OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Nearly two weeks ago, Senator Tony Vargas talked about his parents health fight with the coronavirus.

Overnight, he took to Twitter, saying his mother is recovering at home, but his father is still on a ventilator in the ICU. He's still in critical, but stable condition.

"I want to thank you for all the positive messages, prayers and thoughts you've been sending to my family," Vargas said. "It has meant the world to them- not only my family in New York, but my family here."

Vargas says he and his family are keeping strong and hopeful because that's what his father would want.

He is asking you to keep his father in their thoughts and prayers and to contact a health provider if you have any symptoms.
