OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Hospitals across the country are reporting a shortage of protective medical equipment. This has led to several local efforts to try to help.

Digiorgio's Sportswear in Millard is normally busy making T-shirts for the College World Series and other sporting events. Now they are sewing double-sided cloth mask covers, which help N-95 masks last longer.

Workers call it a fun project in an uncertain time.

“It actually feels pretty good to help out the community, especially going through such a rough time that everyone’s going through," said Kali Lamb. "So it makes me feel pretty good."

Workers hope the project will help the T-shirt shop come up with other ways to build the business after the pandemic passes.
