UNMC designs intubation shields to help protect hospital staff

UNMC has developed a new tool that will help offset the shortage of supplies and protect doctors.

They've created what's called an intubation shield. It's basically a plastic box with holes so medical staff can access a patient during a procedure and they can provide an oxygen tube.

It's also lightweight, folds and is easy to clean.

UNMC says it will ship these protective barriers to other hospitals in some of the areas that have been hit the hardest by the virus.
