OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — More than 22% of Iowa registered voters have submitted their ballots, according to the Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate, the head election official.
"We just want to make sure we make it as smooth as possible so they are not frustrated by the process," said Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate.
There have been more than 786,000 requests for absentee ballots.
The deadline for a mail-in ballot was last Friday.
So far, 250,000 Democrats have voted, and 131,000 Republicans.
