COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (KMTV) — The Pottawattamie County Attorney's Office says no charges will be filed against a man who intervened and killed another man who was involved in a domestic violence dispute in Council Bluffs.

Last December, 67-year-old Stephen Hahn attempted to stop a domestic violence dispute between 59-year-old Russ Atkins and his wife. Hahn knew the couple and decided to step in.

Hahn, who was legally allowed to carry a firearm, shot and killed Atkins during the dispute.

Today, the Pottawattamie County Attorney's Office says a Grand Jury, called to review the case, "returned a “No Bill” late yesterday afternoon, which means that no charges will be filed against Mr. Hahn."
