17-year-old dead in shooting at Omaha Motel 6

Update 9/18/20

The Omaha Police Department says Beaverson's manslaughter charge has been changed to second-degree murder.

In relation to the case, 18-year old Trinity Hendrickson has been booked into Douglas County Corrections for tampering with evidence.

Omaha Police responded to a shooting at the Motel 6 near 84th and Grover in Omaha Friday night.

When authorities arrived after 9 p.m., they found a 17-year-old male deceased in the hotel room.

Officers and homicide detectives identified the sole suspect, 20-year-old Mason Beaverson, and arrested him without incident.

Beaverson was booked into Douglas County Corrections for Manslaughter, Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
