$10 million bond set for inmate accused of killing Deputy Mark Burbridge

The man suspected of killing Deputy Mark Burbridge and wounding Deputy Pat Morgan is being held in Douglas County Jail on a $10 million bond.

Five deputies escorted Wesley Correa-Carmenaty in and out of court this morning.

A hearing for the suspect is set for Thursday at 1 p.m..

Correa-Carmenaty is facing several felonies in Douglas County including:
     Kidnapping
     Felon in possession of a weapon

He is being held in Douglas County because that's where he was arrested.

In Iowa, the proper warrants were filed late this morning to extradite Correa- Carmenaty to the Pottawattamie County to face charges of: murder, attempted murder, escape

Iowa does not have the death penalty, but the Pottawattamie County Attorney says he's open to speaking with federal officials about Carrea-Carmenaty being tried federally if the death penalty could come into play.
