Omaha PD officials say a 10-year-old child is in critical condition after he was struck by a car on 107th and Fort Sunday afternoon.

Officials say a 1997 Honda Accord was westbound on Fort in the curb lane.

According to witnesses, the pedestrian ran out into the street at 107th St.

OPD officials say the vehicle attempted to swerve out of the way, but struck the pedestrian.

The pedestrian was transported to Nebraska Medicine by OFD Squad.

Authorities say that neither excessive speed nor alcohol use are considered factors in the crash.

There is no marked crosswalk where the crash occurred.

The crash is under investigation at this time.

The pedestrian was identified as 10-year-old Collin M. Stone.

Officials say Stone is currently in critical condition.

The driver was identified as 27-year-old Veronica Carreno-Lopez and she was uninjured.
