Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) troopers arrested two men after locating 100 pounds of marijuana and one half pound of meth while attempting a motorist assist in Lincoln on Friday.

According to the NSP, a trooper saw a recreational vehicle around 4 p.m. struggling to maintain its lane while traveling eastbound on I-80 near Lincoln.

The vehicle exited at mile marker 399 and the trooper contacted the driver at a gas station to offer assistance. That trooper then learned the driver was traveling with a suspended license.

A NSP K9 detected the presence of a controlled substance in the vehicle during the stop. Troopers located 100 pounds of marijuana and one half pound of meth during a search.

Driver Jason Wolff, 43, of Sacramento, CA, and passenger Michael Wernecke, 48, of Madison, WI, were arrested for possession of marijuana – more than one pound, possession of methamphetamine, and possession with intent to deliver.

Both were lodged in Lancaster County Jail.
