GRETNA, Neb. (KMTV) — A Gretna centenarian got her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on Friday.
Eva Thompson is 105 years old and she was given the first round of the Moderna vaccine at her home, Hillcrest Silver Ridge senior living home.
Her son said he is looking forward to things going back to the way they used to be before the pandemic.
"It's a very touching experience. We've been waiting for this event for 10 months and at last it's finally here. So, in a few days, she'll be partially covered by the vaccine and when she gets her second shot, we'll be good to go. so looking forward to visit her without her mask on and for her to actually see me, because at her age, with dementia, it's very difficult for her to understand why we have the masks on," he said.
