GRETNA, Neb. (KMTV) — It's been almost a month since a fatal car accident in Gretna, left the community picking up the pieces. Four young girls dead and one injured. Saturday however, was meant to remember those girls and honor their families.
It was all part of an event called "4 the 4." Money was raised for the families impacted by the crash, as many turned to the event to help with the healing process.
"To keep their memory alive, to keep talking about them, to keep the community strong," says Denise Stephany, Event Organizer.
Maddie Minardi, who lost her sister in the crash spent some time reflecting. "She was just so fun and just so goofy and she was a really good dancer. She had goals and she wanted to get things done," says Minardi.
Minardi was happy to see the turnout of the event. "It's really nice to know that everybody is here to support. That everybody loved them."
First responders were also honored at the event.
