96th and Ida shooting suspect arrested, say police

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — On Tuesday, the Omaha Police Department says gang detectives and other officers located and arrested a suspect connected to a shooting that took place on Sunday night.

Marquez Haley, 19, was booked into Douglas County Corrections for charges of second degree assault, use of a weapon to commit a felony, and discharge of a firearm.

The victim, 23-year-old Kaleb Johnson, was transported to Immanuel Medical Center by private vehicle and then to CUMC-Bergan Mercy by a rescue squad.

Police say Johnson has a non-life threatening injury.

The initial shots fired call came in on Sunday at 8:39 p.m. at 9645 Ida.
