OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) -- — The former Fontenelle Elementary first-grade teacher, accused of sexually assaulting half a dozen young girls, is bound over to Douglas County District Court. Greg Sedlacek, 30, waived his preliminary hearing on Wednesday.

Before Thanksgiving a witness tells police they saw Sedlacek inappropriately touching a 6-year-old student on the playground. He then admits to investigators he sexually assaulted other girls at the school, dating back to the start of the year. One girl says it happened inside the classroom and on the playground.

"It's always unfortunate when these kids of allegations arise especially involving an individual who is entrusted with the safety and care of our children," said Molly Keane, Douglas County Deputy Prosecutor.

Police are still investigating if more charges should be turned over to prosecutors.

If found guilty, Sedlacek faces 60 years to up to 6 life sentences in prison.

It's unclear when he'll be back in court, and he hasn't been assigned a district court judge yet.
