LINCOLN, Neb. (KMTV) — A proposed bill hopes to allow the state of Nebraska to collect taxes on online purchases.
The revenue committee voted in favor of sending the bill to the full unicameral. The state already collects a tax from online purchases due to an order from the Nebraska Department of Revenue.
That order states businesses have to collect the tax. The unicameral hasn't passed a formal law requiring an online tax yet.
