The Aksarben Stock Show is moving to a new home.
The nation's largest 4-H livestock show which began in Omaha in 1928 is moving to Grand Island's Fonner Park which hosts the Nebraska State Fair.
The Aksarben Foundation which sponsors the show says the Fonner Park facilities have more room than the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, and moving will help the show expand. Last year it drew nearly 1,100 participants from several states.
This year's show will be held September 28th through October 1. A professional rodeo has run with the show since 1947, but a contract for a rodeo this year has not been signed yet.
