OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — It's the end of an era for an Omaha family restaurant. Amato's served its last meal on Sunday.
After 45 years in business and 27 years at its current location, the Italian restaurant off Center and 64th shut its doors for good.
Owner Ann Amato ran the business with her son after her husband, Sam, passed away in 2017.
He started with a food truck before transitioning to brick and mortar.
Amato's was featured on national programs including Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and on Travel Channel's Man v. Food.
The cafe was known for its Italian sausage and ricotta pancakes.
Owners plan to list restaurant supplies and other items in an online auction.
