Amnesty event brings in dozens of guns, 1,000 pounds of fireworks

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The Omaha Police and Fire Departments hosted a fireworks/gun amnesty event today and received several guns, 1,000 pounds of ammunition and over 1,000 pounds of fireworks.

From 9:00 am to 1:00 pm the departments collected the materials at Fire Station 43. All together 39 long guns, 16 hand guns, 1,000 pounds of ammunition and 1,400 pounds of fireworks were brought to the station.
