Arrest made after fire intentionally set to Omaha home

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — According to the Omaha Fire Department, a 33-year-old man was arrested by investigators after intentionally starting a detached garage on fire near N 33rd and Newport Ave on Tuesday.

Upon arrival, fire crews reported heavy smoke and flames in a single-story family dwelling.

Occupants self-rescued and no injuries were reported, according to the fire department.

The suspect, 33-year-old Eddie J Rogers III was located in the area and arrested on multiple arson charges.
