OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Omaha Fire Investigators have made an arrest in connection with a duplex fire on Friday.
At 5:28 p.m., fire crews arrived on scene near 822 S. 50th St and reported smoke on approach.
One occupant of the residence was able to self-rescue with no injuries prior to the fire department's arrival.
According to the Omaha Fire Department, crews determined there was a fire in the basement and a working fire was declared at 5:33 p.m.
The fire was extinguished with no injuries.
The fire department said the cause was determined to be incendiary. Investigators arrested Weston Herrera, 37, in connection to the fire.
One adult was displaced.
