OMAHA, Neb. — Omaha Police arrested a man on arson charges after a fire Monday morning at Kensington Woods Apartments.
Smoke and flames were coming from a 3rd floor apartment that extended into the attic space, according to the Omaha Fire Department.
The fire was under control around 8:30 a.m.
One occupant, Clinton Gathye, 34, was rescued from a 3rd floor balcony and transported to Bergan Mercy Hospital in serious condition.
Gathye was booked in Douglas County Corrections on arson charges.
The building sustained approximately $80,000 in structure damage.
