Authorities: Man shot after firing shots at Cass County deputies

LOUISVILLE, Neb. (KMTV) — The Nebraska State Patrol is investigating a shooting involving Cass County deputies.

The sheriff's office was called to a home on Raven Drive on a report of a man attempting suicide Wednesday night around 10:30.

After talking with a woman at the home, her husband allegedly approached deputies and started shooting. They returned fire, hitting the man multiple times.

The man was brought to Bergan Mercy Medical Center in Omaha.

No Cass County deputies were hurt, and the deputies involved where placed on administrative leave, in accordance with Cass County Sheriffs’ policy.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office has requested that the Nebraska State Patrol conduct the investigation into the incident.
