A little more than two weeks after a reticulated giraffe was born at the Henry Doorly Zoo on April 30, the calf officially has a name, Malcolm.
The name was picked from a total of 3,357 submissions from zoo visitors and the win of the contest received a gift basket.
Malcolm was one of just 11 giraffes born in American zoos in the last 12 months.
The Henry Doorly Zoo now has 11 giraffes with the addition of Malcolm, eight females and three males.
Malcolm and his 17-year-old mother, Dottie, will be separated from the rest of the herd before rejoining the other nine giraffes in a few weeks.
