Douglas County elections officials have finally finished counting ballots from Tuesday's Presidential Election.

Vote counting wrapped up around 5:15 a.m. on Wednesday.  The delay in vote counting led to questions overnight about who won the hotly contested 2nd Congressional District race between political newcomer, Republican retired Air Force Brigadier General Don Bacon and the incumbent, Democrat Brad Ashford.

The totals show Bacon clinging holding a slim lead as the final votes were tallied.  Bacon captured 134,291 votes to Ashford's 128,739 in Douglas and Sarpy Counties. That's a difference of 5552 in favor of Bacon.  The results are unofficial until they're certified in a couple of weeks.

Both candidates are expected to hold news conferences later Wednesday.
