The Huskers are still winless after an overtime loss to Northwestern Saturday so there was no free beer in Council Bluffs, but it was awfully close.
Things looked pretty good for the Huskers late in the fourth and bar owner Matt Johnson admits he wasn't expecting the game to be close so he rushed back to work when the Huskers held a late lead.
"I was at the Iowa western game, at the tailgate down there, and my phone was blowing up saying you need to get closer you need to get here, so I left the tailgate and came down here to a packed house. it was both Iowa fans and Husker fans obviously," he said. "They were close."
Johnson added the offer still stands for whenever the first win of the Frost era comes, whether that is next year or next week.
