The grounds at the Homestead National Monument  in Beatrice are all cleaned up and the town is clear of the more than 15,000 visitors from Monday's total solar eclipse.

Susan Cook, the monument's chief ranger, said she expected cleanup to take much longer and there was not as much trash as she anticipated.

However, Cook and local businesses in Beatrice want to see more events come to their city.

"There were hundreds of people in here," Deanna Hale, the owner of Sunrise Bakery said. "We had people from Germany, South Africa, Hawaii, Alaska."
