Bellevue church to host Thanksgiving meal, hand out clothes

Posted

Bellevue Christian Center has a yearly tradition of celebrating Thanksgiving with a meal, and a greater purpose.

Every year, with help from the Open Door Mission, the church hosts Thanksgiving and then gives away donated winter clothing.

"We're going to invite families who would probably struggle to provide a Thanksgiving meal form themselves to come have Thanksgiving with us," pastor Richard Nakai said. "Instead of just feeding them a meal that will last a night, we want to make a lasting impact on this next season of life."

Any leftover coats, hats and gloves they have tonight, will go to the Open Door Mission.
