Conservative speaker Ben Shapiro spoke at Creighton University on Wednesday and brought a hot topic with him.

The deadly high school shooting in South Florida reignited the gun control debate, and Shapiro will weigh in on the issue. He announced on Twitter he would talk about the "full defense of the second amendment."
The university is not hosting the political commentator, but college chapters of the conservative grassroots group Turning Point USA invited Shapiro to speak DJ Sokol Arena, his speech came in front of a packed house with people waiting outside for hours to get in. Roughly 1,500 people were in attendance.
The event was met with heavier police presence in the area as protests were expected, but only two protesters holding one sign were in attendance.
