Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands is getting into the holiday spirit.

The fifth annual Winter Carnival is the program's largest activity of the year with more than 400 Bigs and Littles expected.

The kids and their mentors enjoyed cupcake decorating, inflatable obstacle courses and games in the La Vista recreation center.

"It's the holidays, it's the winter season, it's just a joyous time, typically, but it also gives the kids and their matches a really fun opportunity just to come out and experience a lot of different things," said Kelsi Jelden, activities coordinator.
