The results are in and voters in Council Bluffs have chosen their next city leaders.
Incumbent Mayor Matt Walsh defeated Pottawattamie County Supervisor Scott Belt to win a second term. Walsh collected 3,477 votes to Belt's 2,656.
Between four candidates for City Council, voters chose Melissa Head and Mike Wolf. Head received 3,609 votes while Wolf received 2,744 votes. Lynn Branigan finished third with 2,660, and Al Ringgenberg received 2,505 votes.
As for the mayoral race in Carter Lake, Ron Cumberledge defeated Russ Kramer 660 to 302. Jason Gundersen and JacLeen Wahl won City Council seats. Gundersen was the leading vote-getter with 662 to Wahl's 513 votes. Keebie Kessler was third with 444 and Kathryn Dueling with 167 votes.
