The Cass County Sheriff's Office recovered a body in the Platte River near South Bend on Friday.
Deputies identified the body as 70 year old Sandra Root. A relative made the discovery
KMTV 3 News Now heard reports people were searching for Root in the area earlier today. Root who was last seen a week ago on March 2nd.
Tonight her family issued this statement on the Facebook page dedicated to finding her, "We would like to thank everyone for your efforts, prayers and kind words during our search for our mom and grandmother. It is with heavy hearts we let you know she has gone to be with her loving husband in heaven. We ask that you please respect our privacy at this time."
