A boil water advisory was issued for customers in the Rural Water District 2 in Cass County and parts of Otoe and Lancaster County after E. coli was detected in the water system.
Officials said this impacts about 2,500 people including the village of Murdock and unincorporated village of Walton.
The source has not yet been identified.
Officials are chlorinating the entire system.
The boil order won't be lifted until test samples come back clean over two consecutive days.
