A Douglas County judge set a $10 million bond for Wesley Correa-Carmenaty on Tuesday morning. He's accused of shooting and killing Pottawattamie County Sheriff's Deputy Mark Burbridge.
Prosecutors say 23-year-old Correa-Carmenaty is also accused of shooting Deputy Pat Morgan as he escaped custody in Council Bluffs on Monday.
Morgan was hospitalized and is expected to be okay.
Multiple correctional officers surrounded Correa-Carmenaty as he appeared in jail court. He was handcuffed and shackled as guards held onto him.
He faces a long list of charges in Douglas County including kidnapping and use of a weapons to commit a felony.
Warrants have also been filed in Pottawattamie County charging him with first degree murder, two counts of attempted murder and multiple other charges.
