OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The runway at Offutt Air Force Base is one step closer to getting a new look.
The Air Force has awarded a $144 million contract to a California firm to rebuild the 79-year-old runway.
The project is expected to begin sometime this winter and last for two years. During that time, flight operations at Offutt will be moved to the Lincoln airport
