With the battery not working a Bellevue couple's fire alarm, it was up to their cats to wake them up so they could get out of their burning home.
It happened around 12:30 a.m. near Bel Air Boulevard and Hillcrest Drive. Crews say the fire started from improperly discarded smoking materials.
No one was injured and the home's attic was burned.
