Council Bluffs city council seeks meeting with Iowa West

UPDATE: The Council Bluffs city council says they decided on Monday they would reach out to the Iowa West Foundation after the company halted their $9 million donation.

Council woman Melissa Head they will request a meeting with Iowa West and they would like all five council members present at the meeting.

There is a change Iowa West could pull their funding, and Head said they would like to try and avoid that right now.

The Council Bluffs city council will have to discuss during Monday night's meeting how to proceed with their $35 million dollar Broadway streetscape after the Iowa West Foundation paused their funding.

Iowa West has a $9 million commitment to the project, but after the city council voted to take out the medians, they had to reconsider their involvement.

A letter was sent to city council members last week and it is unknown if any face-to-face conversations have taken place between the council and Iowa West.

Monday night’s meeting will be a time for the council to discuss their options and possibly hear from Iowa West.
