OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — CHI Health will once again be giving away thousands of free masks to the metro community this Saturday at five local hospitals.
While supplies last, each hospital will have 3,000 masks to hand out Saturday morning. The masks will be handed out from 9am-11am.
The giveaway locations include:
- CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center-Bergan Mercy
- CHI Health Immanuel
- CHI Health Midlands
- CHI Health Lakeside
- CHI Health Mercy Council Bluffs
Anyone wishing to receive a free mask should go to each hospital’s main entrance.
The free masks were made for CHI Health and are constructed with Halyard fabric, which is a material typically used to wrap surgical instrument trays in a medical setting. These masks can be washed and re-used.
In June, CHI Health handed out nearly 10,000 masks during giveaways at CHI Health headquarters, the Salvation Army Omaha Kroc Center and CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center – University Campus.
"The large response showed the need for masks remains months into the COVID-19 pandemic," CHI said in a press release.
In addition to the metro giveaways, CHI Health will also be handing out 3,000 Halyard masks at CHI Health Nebraska Heart in Lincoln on Saturday, from 9am-11 am.
