Child enticement attempt reported in Bennington

Posted

Bennington Police Chief Lester Johnson tells us the department is investigating a possible child enticement attempt involving a 6-year-old girl.

The chief says the little girl was playing in her driveway near 156th and Bennington Tuesday night when two men in an older model red pickup truck approached her. The truck had a camper shell and tinted windows.

The men apparently wanted the 6-year-old to get her scooter and get in the truck.

The girl's 10-year-old sister then came outside and found the girl talking to the strangers. She said something to get the girl to come inside or stop speaking with them. That's when the 6-year-old turned to come back inside and the girls say the men drove away.

Bennington Police have not identified the men in the truck.
