OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Since 2018, the Joy Group and Dream Quartet has brought live music and culture to senior living communities. That continued this weekend as the local high school music group performed in front of more than 100 seniors at the Elk Ridge Village Retirement Community.
They played Chinese music to celebrate the Chinese new year, which featured piano solo's, and violins.
Those with the event say the music helps bring people together while also providing learning opportunities.
Traditional moon cakes that are eaten during the Chinese new year, were given out at the event as well.
