The Omaha City Council on Tuesday approved 6-1 a recommendation for a liquor license for the Tobacco Hut located at 62nd Street and Ames Avenue.
The approval was made with a stipulation that the store can only serve wine and beer as well as singles bigger than 24 ounces.
The application will go before the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission , which will make the final decision on whether to grant the license.
The council also voted 4-3 against a recommendation for Cuming Food Mart at 40th and Cuming streets to add spirits and wine over 500mL. The store is currently allowed to sell beer.
