A Sidney, Iowa city administrator facing charges for allegedly falsifying drinking water tests for years has quit.
Mark Travis has pleaded not guilty to felonious misconduct and falsifying required water quality information charges. Fremont County authorities say Travis falsified monthly reports to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources from 2009 to 2015.
The Sidney City Council approved Travis' resignation which is effective September 30th. He has been on paid administrative leave since July. His trial is scheduled for October 11th.
