A controlled burn in Council Bluffs is shutting down the Veterans Memorial Bridge.
The smoke is part of a fire burning on the banks of the Missouri River
Lieutenant Budd, from the Council Bluffs Police Department, announced this afternoon the bridge is shut down until at least midnight. He asked drivers avoid the area.
The flames were burning near Harrah's Casino but officials say not to worry.
