As all eyes are on the Nebraska Department of Corrections, as they go through yet another controversy.
On Monday, Director Scott Frakes testified in front of lawmakers outlining his budget requests for the next biennium.
Director Frakes is asking for a $75 million dollar construction project to add more prison space and $700,000 to support the delivery of evidence based programming.
"Both the recommendations by the committee and the governor serve the taxpayers of Nebraska well, by funding staffing, security and programming infinitives," said Frakes, also mentioning the troubles of finding and retaining staff, "challenges, still in hiring in Tecumseh, that's been the challenge of Tecumseh."
