COUNCIL BLUFFS, Ia. (KMTV) — UPDATE:
The Council Bluffs Police Department reports Thursday evening that Luna Gallagos and her mother, Jennifer A. Reilly, were found safely in Cedar Falls. The Cedar Falls Police Department called Council Bluffs police to let them know the two had been found. According to CBPD, Luna's father will take custody of her, while Reilly will stay in Cedar Falls for the time being for treatment at a local hospital.
The Council Bluffs Police Department (CBPD) is asking for help locating a missing 2-year-old, Luna Gallegos, and her mother, Jennifer A. Reilly.
According to a statement released by the CBPD Thursday afternoon, officers were called to a home in Council Bluffs regarding a missing two-year-old. The child’s father stated that Jennifer Reilly had left the residence late Wednesday night with their daughter, Luna Gallagos, and he had not heard from them since.
Police said that family members are concerned for the safety of Reilly and her daughter due to recent delusional comments made by Reilly. Officers are looking to locate both mother and child to check their physical and emotional welfare.
Luna Gallagos was last seen wearing a long-sleeved, 'Elsa' shirt and blue snowflake pajama pants. Jennifer Reilly is a 26-year-old, white female with brown hair cut into a Mohawk. Police had no clothing description for Reilly. They left the area in a gold, 2003 Honda Accord with Nebraska Plate WHS-165. Anyone with any information on their possible whereabouts please contact 911 in your area.
The Council Bluffs Police Department said it submitted an Amber Alert application on this incident to the state but it did not meet the requirements for an alert at this time.
