The Council Bluffs Police Department has released a surveillance photo of a suspect sought in connection with a Thursday afternoon bank robbery.

The robbery happened around 4:45 p.m. at the Frontier Savings Bank at 509 S 23rd Ave.

Investigators say the suspect asked a bank teller “Are you all ready for Christmas?” and handed her a note demanding money.

“The suspect also produced what appeared to be a small caliber handgun and laid the weapon down with his right hand on the counter toward the teller,” police said in a press release.

They say he gave the teller a retail store bank bag with a drawstring to put the money in.

Anyone able to help identify the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (712) 328-7867.
