A Council Bluffs woman was arrested after she held up a pharmacy for pills just after noon today, Council Bluffs Police said in press release.
Carrie Anne Tripp, 42, of Council Bluffs was arrested on charges of third-degree robbery and first-degree theft after authorities said she held up a Medicap Pharmacy near 22nd Street and West Broadway just after noon Friday, the CBPD release states.
A pharmacy employee said a woman wearing camouflage clothing came in and made her way to the pharmacy counter, then produced a gun, the release states. Witnesses said she pointed the weapon, later determined to be a pellet pistol, at an employee and demanded painkillers, the release states.
The employee retrieved several pill bottles, and place them on the counter, the release states. The suspect grabbed the items and fled on foot, but was apprehended a short time later 2100 block of Second Avenue with the assistance of Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s deputies, according to the release.
Tripp was in police custody at the Pottawattamie County Jail following the incident, the release states.
