OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — A crash near the airport left one person injured early Saturday morning.
Around 3:20, officers were called near Abbott Drive and Carter Lake Drive. The investigation revealed that a silver 2004 Chevy Cavalier was driving north on Abbott Drive when it left the roadway.
The Cavalier slid and rolled multiple times, striking a decorative metal light pole before coming to rest back in the roadway. The driver was ejected and transported to Nebraska Medicine with possible serious head injuries.
Speed and lack of seat belt use are primary factors in the crash. The driver has been identified as 19-year-old Cole McCormick.
Abbott Drive was completely re-opened around 5:45 a.m.
