Creighton University officials and students are mourning a professor many called a spiritual inspiration.
On Tuesday, Creighton President Father Dan Hendrickson tweeted out about the death of Father Richard Hauser.
It is with great sadness that I share Fr. Richard Hauser, SJ, part of the @Creighton community for 46 years, has passed away. He was an ever-present face on campus and will be greatly missed. https://t.co/pQOHPTOsAD pic.twitter.com/fAnBvS5sIt

Father Hauser was part of the Creighton community for 46 years, leading the theology program and launching the campus's candlelight mass during that time.
Father Hendrickson called Father Hauser an "ever-present face on campus," adding he will be greatly missed.
Anointed just last evening by members of the Jesuit Community, Fr. Hauser’s final words were playful, circumspect, and grateful; he loved @Creighton University; photo by Jesuit classmate, fellow Golden Jubilarian as priests (50-yrs!), and confidant, Fr.
