Firefighters were dispatched to a working house fire near 16th and B in South Omaha near Spring Lake Park Friday night.
Officials say the fire started on the street side of the house. Extra fire trucks were requested.
An elderly woman was found inside the home and transported to Nebraska Medicine in Code 3 condition.
Crews were able to put out the fire after 8:30 p.m. and keep the fire from spreading to nearby homes. The house was in a steep area, making it hard for crews to get tools and hoses to the home.
Investigators remain on scene looking for the cause of the blaze.
No word on the woman's condition.
