Dave Rimington named interim Athletic Director at Nebraska

Former Nebraska center Dave Rimington was named the interim Athletic Director for the Huskers Tuesday afternoon, according to a release. 

Rimington was a two-time Outland Trophy winner at NU, winning the award given to the top offensive lineman in the country in back-to-back years in 1981 and 1982. The Rimington Award, which is given to the top collegiate center at each level, was named after him in 2000. He is an Omaha native who graduated from Omaha South. 

Rimington also played in the NFL from 1983-1989, he was a first round pick in 1983. 

He has served as the President of the Bommer Esiason Foundation for cystic fibrosis since 1995.
