Sarpy County deputies are investigating an afternoon crash that killed two people and injured two others on Highway 50 near Schram road Monday afternoon.

Deputies say around 4 p.m., a white mini-van was traveling north on Highway 50 near Schram road when it crossed the center line and crashed into a black pickup truck that was southbound. The driver of the minivan, an adult male, as well as an adult female passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. A five-year-old girl who was also in the minivan was taken to Nebraska Medicine with unknown injuries. The driver of the pickup truck, an adult female, was taken to CHI Bergan-Mercy with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Sarpy County Sheriff's Captain Kevin Griger says two other vehicles carrying five people total were involved in the crash, but left unscathed. "One driver left the scene, she was okay with no injuries. the other vehicle was an adult woman with three juvenile males and they left without injuries."

The sheriff's office was not sure if rainy conditions led to the crash. The victim's names have not been released.
